Cradle Mountain

Cradle Mountain is located in the Central Highlands of Tasmania. It stands at 1,545 metres above sea level. The park is known for its unique and breathtaking landscapes, the view from the surrounding bushland is just as amazing as the views from the top. The trail can get rocky and unstable but the hard work is worth it.

Different seasons bring different breathtaking things to see. Discover deep snowdrifts in winter, spectacular displays of yellows, oranges, and reds across the mountain slopes in autumn as Tasmania's deciduous trees turn colour, playful young joeys and hungry echidnas emerging in spring, and the scent of wildflowers filling the air as you dip your toe into a crystal-clear lake on a summer's day.

We went during Autumn and it was amazing. We hiked past Wombat Pool up to Marrion’s Peak, see the view and other photos from the hike below.
